[Most recent update: March 17th, 2021]
In 2013, after having taken online teacher training, participated in conferences on online education, and attended countless webinars on other topics, Zingrone upgraded her student account on the social media teaching and learning platform, WizIQ.com to a premium teacher account and offered her first online course, the Scientific Study of Psychic Phenomena. Sixteen lectures were taught from April of 2013 through July of 2014, 29 students joined the class, and Alvarado joined the lectures in 2014. The test of the medium and the interest of the students in lectures on the academic and scientific research done in the field of parapsychology since the 19th century was successful.
Excited by this, Alvarado put together a roster of active researchers, and Zingrone set up the live lectures and trained the speakers to use the WizIQ system. From this activity, the November fee-based conference was born, Parapsychology and Psychology: Research and Theory. Offered over two days, the conference included Dr. Alejandro Parra (Argentina), Dr. Jim Carpenter (USA), Dr. Christine Simmonds-Moore (USA), Dr. Patrizio Tressoldi (Italy), Dr. Renaud Evrard (France), and Dr. Chris Roe (UK). About seventy individuals signed up for the initial conference, several of them hosting a group to watch the presentations. After the course was over, anyone who asked was given a free invitation (more information on how you can do that below) and another thirty-four joined to watch the lectures, download the PowerPoints, and read the extra materials uploaded to the classroom frame.
As the conference was finishing, Alvarado and Zingrone decided to set up their own teaching business and began planning the first of what will be annual massively open online courses on scientific parapsychology, Parapsychology and Anomalistic Psychology: Research and Education or ParaMOOC2015. Twenty-free lecturers were lined up to give talks on the research they were actively conducting, some in universities, some in private research facilities and schools. Speakers hailed from the UK, the USA, France, Brazil, Italy, India, Argentina, and other locations around the globe. At the time the course finished, 803 students had registered, around 130 individuals had attended at least one live lecture, and several dozen were working on the certificates of completion. While the course was open to students, the final course count reached more than one thousand registrants.
To support the courses the Parapsychology Online blog and the Parapsychology Online YouTube Channel were established. To find out more about the conferences and courses, click on the Parapsychology Online blog link above and then on the tab for the course or the conference.
In addition to these Alvarado and Zingrone offered a fee-based affordable four-week course on the out-of-body experience and offered the ParaMOOC series until 2020. While the course was cancelled in 2021 due to health challenges, we hope the series will return in 2022. Lectures are still being uploaded to the Parapsychology Foundation YouTube channel and the Parapsychology Online YouTube channel.
The AZIRE Moodle
A number of courses are available on the The AZIRE Moodle, among them dreaming and dream interpretation courses offered by Bobbie Ann Pimm, and Dr. Jim Matlock’s Signs of Reincarnation course (a new iteration is coming up in May of 2021). Zingrone is also building an archive course of ParaMOOC materials, PowerPoints, and videos from 2015 through 2020. To investigate what’s available, go to https://theazire.org/Moodle and click on the icons or titles of the courses listed. Course details are available to the public.
Do you have any on line courses on reincarnation therapy. I´m a doctor in psychology and interested in acquiring therapy skills on this topic.
Many thanks, Gabriela
Dr Jim Matlock teaches a graduate level 12-week course called Signs of Reincarnation. His course focuses on reincarnation research which is a very good grounding for any other work along those lines. His website is http://jamesgmatlock.com/.
Atlantic University in Virginia Beach, Virginia is associated with Edgar Cayce’s Association for Research and Enlightenment. They have a general masters in Transpersonal Psychology in which you can take online courses for credit related to the topic of hypnotic regression, but they also have a Graduate Certificate in Integrated Imagery: Regression Hypnosis that may work for you. The link to the Graduate Certificate is: https://www.atlanticuniv.edu/academics/programs/integrated-imagery-regression-hypnosis-grad-certificate/ and the link to the overall MA is https://www.atlanticuniv.edu/academics/programs/transpersonal-psychology-m-a/. They are nationally accredited which is one step down from regional accreditation in the US, but their accreditor, the Distance Education Accrediting Commission is one of the very few national accreditors that is recognized by the US Department of Education, and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation in the USA. They also authorized by the State Council of Higher Education in Virginia. Here’s the link to that page: https://www.atlanticuniv.edu/about/accreditation/

So sorry I never answered this comment. I just never saw the little dot above the bell! I just wanted to tell (I’m also a PhD in psych but only on the research side), that Atlantic University in Virginia Beach, VA has a certificate program in hypnotic regression that’s a very credible course and has hands on workshops built into the course as well as academic work that is completed at a distant. This is the link: https://www.atlanticuniv.edu/academics/online-programs/integrated-imagery-regression-hypnosis-grad-certificate/ I’m not sure who is teaching it at this point, but AU has always been careful about faculty, and in general they are very kind, very passionate about their areas of instruction, and very transformative in general. There are a number certificates in the program as well as a couple of MA programs.
Did I ever response to you? I’m so sorry if I didn’t. Look for the reincarnation therapy certificate at Atlantic University in Virginia Beach, it’s a combination of online and on-site residencies.
I have a bachelors degree in psych. Where do I even begin to start my next chapter for study and career?
Hello, I was interested to learn more about the courses that are offered online.
Thanks for writing us. Because of health challenges in our family, we’re not offering courses this year. But if you go to The AZIRE Moodle you will see Signs of Reincarnation, a course that Dr Jim Matlock teaches a couple times a year (the new one is coming in May of 2021), and courses on dreaming by are directed by Bobbie Ann Primm. In addition to exploring those courses, we also suggest the courses at the Rhine Research Center. You can find those by clicking here.
What a good question! I would suggest looking at the American Psychological Association website to see what careers you are interested in. Click here for the Careers page on the APA website. Another think to think about though is that to become a professional in research or in counseling, a master’s is needed. I teach at Northcentral University, an excellent online university, and you might want to explore NCU or other schools like it to see what type of master’s programs are available and whether or not they could help you discover and achieve your professional goals. Good luck!
I’m interested in studying parapsychology
